Boy, do I have mixed feelings about this...
Ultimately, I think it's basically a citation for being a stupid fuckwit fashion (if you can call it that) victim, and while that can be obnoxious as all hell, there's no way it should be a crime.
OTOH, I'm inclined to look favorably on the indecent exposure charge, because really, being forced to look at some ugly, stupid wanna-be gangster's plumber's crack or worse is *definitely* a form of public assault. I can deal with the thrill of knowing the brand and pattern of somebody else's underwear, but when -those- start dropping around the knee-caps TOO, then it's time to say "Pull 'em up, shit-for-brains, or go to jail."
How in the HELL did this ever become some kind of "fashion" statement?

Agreed on all counts.
On the other hand, it is stupidly difficult to find women's pants that aren't low-rise these days. I had to go buy special undies just so my normal french-cut undies wouldn't show under a lot of my pants. And I STILL get crackanosis if I'm not careful.

So is this law going to apply to everyone, or just the blue man group like they pictured?
Yeah, somebody was having some crazy fun with that graphic. "Crackdown"?
So, the funny thing is that it's Dicks on the look out for ass.
What if it's not your underwear showing? What if it's actually legitimate shorts?
For that matter, If someone were walking around in only boxers that properly covered their bits* would that be illegal? Is it illegal to wear a thong bathing suit in public with out other covering? if not, is it illegal to have your pants reveal your thong bathing suit?
Can we also start fining people for showing their chest cleavage?
Is this law aimed at intent? That is, I assume their not planning to hassle the DPW people who are having the plumber's crack, but rather the youth and their "fashion".
Does this have more to do with what is right for society, or with the difference between people who think this law is right or wrong and the kinds of powers each group generally wield?
*Data security at all times.

Looks like a great nucleus for an Equal Protection lawsuit. Let's watch: what proportion of the violators do you suppose will be black?
Okay, I get how having your bare ass hanging out would count as indecent exposure, but otherwise, isn't this law a bit too "fashion police"? I mean, how slow is this town that they're coming up with stupid things like this to keep their police force busy?
Oh, the headlines that could go with that story....
Dicks looking for buttocks
Youths pull up pants fearing Dicks
Dicks strikes fear into hearts of indecent youths
Hide buttocks to avoid Dicks citation
Flint Chief Dicks cracks down on cracks
Dicks: Fashion Police
Dicks wants butts in jail

I don't know if it's true or not, but I was told that wearing your pants low started in prison as an invitation... is that like dressing up to drop the soap?
