To follow-up on our discussion from last night, above is the likely "sex with animals" scene which got Paul Gravett's Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comics yanked from San Bernardino county libraries after complaints from "devout Christians." Jason Thompson (whose The Stiff you probably read religiously over at girlamatic.com) was kind enough to e-mail me a scan -- thanks, dude. According to the first story I saw on this, "since the book was purchased about a year ago, it has been correctly placed in the adult collection [of the library]."
I'm not sure I have much more to add to this other than the three-part obvious: Any good library ought to have a book on the history of manga, that only the world's shittiest manga history book would ignore the fact that sometimes manga can have sex in it, and that any parent who lets their kid check books out of the adult sections of the library shouldn't be too surprised that the books checked out of the adult section contain adult material.
Like a nympho fairy having sex with a squirrel. You won't find that in your devout Christian bibles, sandwiched between the tales of women being gang-raped and dismembered.
